SAPPHIRE BEACH CRASH: Person Trapped

UPDATE:

One of two lanes closed in each direction according to Traffic Management Centre.

EARLIER:

Emergency services are at the scene of a serious crash on the Pacific Highway at Sapphire Beach.

NSW Ambulance told Triple M, three units were called to the scene at 12:40pm.

Southbound traffic is affected, with one lane closed just past the Mountain Way overpass.

Police, SES and Fire crews are also on the scene assisting to remove a female in her 50's.

She is believed to be suffering an arm and head injury.

The white 4WD appears to have landed on it's side on the wire barriers.

Traffic is heavy in both directions. Motorist are urged to avoid the area.
