While more than 2300 customers in areas around Upper Orara and Karangi are no power.

Raleigh, Mylestom, and Urunga were the hardest hit with around 1800 customers without electricity.

SES crews are currently working on a backlog of jobs to assist with the damage, while crews from Essential Energy work to restore power to the areas.

It is unknown how long before electricity will be restored to the area.
