Two dogs have been stolen, one killed and one injured in two separate break and enters at Mid North Coast Pounds.

Police are investigating after the council pounds at Macksville and Kempsey were broken into.

On Sunday night, intruders forced a gate to gain entry to the Macksville pound. No dogs were stolen or injured.

However, intruders forced entry to the Kempsey pound where two dogs were stolen, and one was injured, while another was killed.

According to Police from the Mid North Coast Police District, it is believed the Kempsey break and enter took place sometime between 3:15pm on Monday and 6:15am on Tuesday morning.

The two dogs stolen, include a male chocolate brown foxy, and a male red-nosed staffy.

Officers are investigating whether both break ins may be linked.
