A ute collided with another vehicle on Tuesday afternoon before coming to a stop hitting a pole at the Jetty Village Shopping Centre.
Emergency Services rushed to the scene just after 5:30pm near the bottle shop on Orlando St and Harbour Drive.
Police closed the road near Fiascos Restaurant while the clean up and investigation was undertaken.
One car had major damage to the rear of the vehicle, while the ute was wrapped around the pole near the entrance to the Bottle Shop.
NSW paramedics attended, a 36 year old woman was transported to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital in a serious condition with suspected spinal injuries, while a 36 year old man was taken in a stable condition with chest pain.
Police continued to investigate the full circumstances of the incident into the night with witnesses urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
A third vehicle had a lucky escape, having damage to the drivers side mirror.
