The 2017 NSW road toll has almost overtaken figures from this time last year after a fatal crash near Coffs Harbour on Saturday.

A man died after being involved in a collision at Thora just before 10:30am.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Darkwood Road and Waterfall Way at Thora following reports of a two car collision.



According to NSW Police, a 31 year old local man was killed at the scene while the driver of the second vehicle was conveyed to hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

Police from Coffs Clarence LAC attended and established a crime scene.

The latest fatal crash brings the NSW road toll to more than 230 people in the eight months so far of 2017.

Police are preparing a report for the Coroner outlining the full circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

Meanwhile, in Glen Innes, a woman has died after a single-vehicle crash on Saturday night.

Just after 10:45pm, Officers from New England LAC attended and found a Holden Commodore utility had crashed at the location.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated a 19-year-old woman, who had been a passenger, before taking her Glen Innes Hospital, where she later died.

The 18 year-old man who had been driving the car was also taken to Glen Innes Hospital before being transferred to Tamworth Hospital for further treatment.
