A woman was airlifted to Coffs Harbour Hospital after a rescue on a NSW beach on Saturday afternoon.

The Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter conducted a winch rescue on a remote beach about 5km south of Wooli. 

A stretcher winch extracted a 54 year old female with a suspected broken ankle. 

The helicopter crew were the only emergency services on scene. 

The patient was flown to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital in a stable condition.
