Keith Urban has just scored his 24th Mediabase Country Airplay Chart #1 this week with his latest single “Coming Home,” featuring Julia Michaels.  The song, which marks the first time that a country artist has utilized a sample of another country song, sees the return of country music great Merle Haggard to the charts for the first time decades.

The hit was written by Urban, J.R. Rotem, Julia Michaels, Nicolle Galyon and of course country music legend Merle Haggard.

“Coming Home,” which Urban explained ‘began with an idea of using the intro of Haggard’s “Mama Tried”,’ gives Urban an astounding thirty-ninth Top 10 singles.

Merle charted his last Number One hit in 1987 with “Twinkle, Twinkle Lucky Star.”

Tickets for Keith Urban’s “GRAFFITI U WORLD TOUR AUSTRALIA,” with special guest Julia Michaels went on sale last week and within days of their release, additional dates in Brisbane and Melbourne were added.
