The Academy of Country Music Awards’ host, iconic entertainer Reba McEntire has delivered Texas-sized news to Dripping Springs-based trio MIDLAND.

Ahead of the Awards on April 15 , Midland have been named as New Vocal Duo/Group of the Year. The trio is the most-nominated debut artist this year with three total nods, also including Single of the Year for their GRAMMY®-nominated “Drinkin’ Problem” and Vocal Group of the Year.

Upon hearing the news, bass player Cameron Duddy said, “We're blown away! This is something you don't even let yourself dream about and now here we are, joining this prestigious list alongside our heroes. Thank you ACMs and all of our family and friends who supported us through this honky-tonk journey. And thank you Reba for delivering this news to us in such an unforgettable way.”
 
The third single, “Burn Out,” from their debut album ON THE ROCKS (Big Machine Records) will be officially released to Country radio on April 9.
