Superstar Country duo SUGARLAND has released a touching tribute aptly titled “Mother,” ahead of Mother’s Day this Sunday (5/13). Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettlespenned the song that embraces a mother’s love with emotionally charged lyrics:

She fixes all the broken things,
When you’re in love, she’s got a ring
To give to you she hopes you give away
She don’t care who you give it to
Where they’re from, if they pray like you
As long as they are good to you, that’s enough
First thing she taught you was love is love.

A mother herself, Nettles shares, “We wanted to celebrate what we feel is so beautiful about mothers. What we shared with our own mothers and what we see is beautiful about that relationship and that kind of unconditional open-ended love.”

As someone who has lost his mom, Bush explained, “This song is about a lot of things, our families, our lives, our country, but mostly, it is about my mom and what she was like. Now you see why it says what it says, especially in the lyric ‘As long as she’s alive you’re not alone’.”

The GRAMMY® Award-winning pair performed today their new single “Babe” on ABC’s Live with Kelly and Ryan which can be seen here.

Their new album BIGGER is available now for pre-order and will be jointly launched under their new joint venture with Big Machine Records and UMG Nashville on June 8.
