Canadian country group, The Dungarees, who were in Australia earlier this year for the Tamworth Country Music Festival, are back with a brand-new single, Don’t Hold Back, the perfect follow up to their previous release, Anywhere With You, which earned the group three ACMA Awards in their home country, taking home the awards for Group of the Year, Video of the Year, and Rising Star.
“The Dungarees have always been up for a challenge,” says lead vocalist James Murdoch. “That’s kind of what this song encapsulates. We’re gonna give it our all when it comes to our music, love and causes we believe in. We don’t back down and we don’t hold back!”
The music video for the track was directed by Travis Nesbitt and features a star-studded cast of fellow Edmonton musicians, with the band taking a light-hearted approach to a classic fight club scenario. The video was shot at Panther Gym in Edmonton, Canada, in the same ring where Mike Tyson trained in the 90’s.
“The video was so much fun to shoot! We had a bunch of our pals, Clayton Bellamy, Dan Davidson and Brandi Sidoryk make cameo appearances. We could hardly stop laughing long enough to get a full take.” – The Dungarees
Distributed by Australian indie label Social Family Records, The Dungarees have been making a splash in the country scene more recently on the US, and in Canada since 2016. The band captured a Billboard Top 40 with hit "I’m Down" and the momentum didn’t slow down through 2017 with their smash "Anywhere With You."
As well as performing at Tamworth Music Festival earlier this year, The Dungarees have performed on some of Canada’s most celebrated summer festival stages including Boots and Hearts, Big Valley Jamboree, The Calgary Stampede, Country Thunder, Dauphin CountryFest and Sunfest Country Music Festival.
The band has also supported country music royalty such as Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Reba McEntire and Dwight Yoakam.
