Festival goers at last year’s Toyota Hats off to Country Festival

Popular winter music festival, Toyota Hats Off To Country, is set to rock Tamworth this July with a refreshing dose of country music’s brightest talent.

The festival, now in its eighteenth year, will run from 12 to 15 July and this year’s line-up sees some of country’s most popular stars take to the stage.

The preliminary program has been released and tickets are now on sale with more than 100 performers and dozens of ticketed and free events on offer at venues across the city including Wests, the Pub Group, the Albert, the Servies Group, South Tamworth Bowling Club, Post Office Hotel and DAG Sheep Station in Nundle.

On the eve of his new album launch, country music favourite Adam Harvey will headline the festival, joined by 2018 Toyota Star Maker Brad Cox, at West Tamworth League Club on Friday 13 July.

Other big names at this year’s event include Luke O'Shea, Aleyce Simmonds, Felicity Urquhart, Kevin Bennett and Hurricane Fall.

Tamworth Regional Council event manager Barry Harley said the festival is fast becoming an event not to be missed for locals and visitors alike.

“The Toyota Hats Off To Country Festival has entertained audiences for almost twenty years now and it really is a great opportunity to get out and enjoy some live music and entertainment in the cooler weather.

“The festival is Tamworth’s chance to welcome back both established and emerging artists from January’s Toyota Country Music Festival and it’s also a great opportunity to support our local entertainment venues who come together to make this festival a success each year.”

Back by popular demand, the Cowboy Crawl will be held on Friday 13 July. Festival-goers are invited to get into the country spirit and jump on board a bus for a mystery tour of local venues. Bookings are available online.

In addition to Adam Harvey, West Tamworth League Club will host Missy Lancaster on Friday with Tamworth Live & Local Acoustic Show in Legends from 2pm-5pm on

Saturday. Across the river at Wests’ Diggers, Jonny Taylor will be putting on a show, all the way from WA.

South Tamworth Bowling Club, affectionately known as “Classic Country Centralwill feature Alby Pool, Anthony Taylor, Sandra Humphries, and local artist Jared Scott.

The Tamworth Services Club is set to be a crowd-pleaser,

with Simply Bushed performing over two nights, while at North Tamworth Bowling Club Toyota Golden Guitar winner Luke O’Shea’s intimate dinner show is a definite highpoint. Michael Bryers will also perform at both venues over the weekend.

Tamworth’s pub scene is well represented across the Toyota Hats Off to Country Festival at the Pub Group’s venues, with highlights including Hurricane Fall on both Friday and Saturday nights at The Longyard. Howdy's Hoedown features at The Pub on Friday night, and Kora Naughton will launch her album Ride Or Die at Moonshiners Honky Tonk Bar at the Family Hotel.
