For residents affected by water contamination in Oakey, help may be closer than they think – if the LNP is elected at the next State election in a few weeks time.

The LNP has announced a new plan for residents to receive compensation.  The plan is to start marketing the town as a great place to live, work and raise a family.

LNP deputy leader, Deb Frecklington says residents will see the benefits of the $1 million package but she still wants to see more done though.

“We are calling on the Federal Government to provide free legal and councilling services to locals, free medical checks for anyone locally who feels as though they have been affected by the contamination issue.”

The wait for action has taken some time and LNP Condamine MP Pat Weir says compensation needs to be sorted out as soon as possible.
