The government says a final decision over the Stage Three expansion of the Acland Coal Mine could still be months away.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk made mention of the delay while in the Garden City delivering Labor's Ag Policy. She says a final decision on whether to approve the controversial mine could be as far away as March 2018.

Mines Minister Dr Anthony Lynham has previously stated that he would make a call by January but the Land Courts decision is currently under judicial review.
