Police have charged a man following the armed robbery of a convenience store in Harristown in the early hours of Sunday morning.

It will be alleged at around 1:15am a man entered the business on James Street and produced a knife, demanding money and car keys from a male staff member.

The staff member complied with the man’s demands before the man fled the scene with a sum of cash in the employee’s vehicle.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

As a result of police investigations, officers arrested a man at an address in Harristown just before 6:30am yesterday morning.

A 30-year-old Charleville man has been charged with: armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence.

He is due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court today.
