Preliminary works to upgrade Cathro Park to create a link between the Railway Parklands Precinct and Queens Park in Toowoomba are expected to start in mid-April.

Toowoomba Regional Council’s Parks and Recreation Services portfolio leader Cr Joe Ramia said the upgrade would enhance the park and provide a better and safer pathway for pedestrians and cyclists, especially between Ruthven and Neil streets.

The project is jointly funded by Toowoomba Regional Council and the Queensland Government’s Building Our Regions Program.

“The first stage of the upgrade covers the area from Ruthven Street to Neil Street. The second stage of the project from Neil Street to Hume Street will be delivered in the future as funding becomes available,” Cr Ramia said.
