Warwick will come alive with festive cheer on Friday December 7 with the launch of ‘Christmas Downtown’, a family friendly street party “Turning on the Lights” at the Warwick Post Office in Grafton Street.

This wonderful community event kicks off from 6:30pm featuring some 60 festively decorated street trees by local businesses and community organisations, along Palmerin Street Warwick between Percy and Fitzroy Streets. The theme for the main street trees this year will be a traditional colour palette of red, green, white, gold or silver and will be on display from 7th – 27th December.

Several acts will be performing including The East Street Singers, The WUPPIES, Central State School Combined Choir, and the Fern Brothers.

Rotary and Warwick East State School P & C will run a sausage sizzle and food stall on the night, and there will be free face painting for the kids.

Entertainment and food will be available from 6.15pm with the official launch at 6.30pm.

The night would not be complete without a surprise visitor from the North Pole making a special appearance to see the young and young at heart.

Ho, ho, ho – Merry Christmas!
