The Toowoomba Hospital Foundation, in partnership with Civic Church Toowoomba, is bringing a little bit of Christmas cheer to those who need it the most this festive season, with their annual Toowoomba’s Neighbourhood Christmas.

This year’s Toowoomba’s Neighbourhood Christmas will provide a hearty two-course lunch catered by ParisiAnn Patisserie on Christmas Day for individuals and families in the local community who otherwise may not have the opportunity to celebrate the holiday.

Toowoomba Hospital Foundation CEO Alison Kennedy said the Luncheon, now in its third year, is helping to bring people together and give back to the community.

“Christmas is a very special time of the year, but for some celebrating Christmas Day can be hard for those who are experiencing hard times, especially for families going through challenging circumstances.  We see and meet so many generous people throughout the year who do so much for the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation, this is our way of paying that generosity forward and giving those who need it most a special Christmas.   Our Neighbourhood Christmas Luncheon is more than just a Christmas feast, it’s about giving those in need the joy that only comes from enjoying the company and conversation of others”, she said.

Matt Gregg, a pastor at Civic Church Toowoomba, said Civic Church was looking forward to bringing the joy of Christmas to the community. “There is nothing more important than knowing that other people care. By sponsoring and supporting the Neighbourhood Christmas, we’re hoping that those who come not only experience a great Christmas but also leave knowing they are valued and loved.”

Santa Claus will also be making a special visit to Toowoomba’s Neighbourhood Christmas bringing gifts and plenty of ‘ho-ho-ho’s’ for the kids to help spread the Christmas cheer.
