The Queensland Nurses and Midwives Union hold concerns for the welfare of patients at the Stenner Street Blue Care in Toowoomba after nine nursing jobs were cut from the centre on Friday.

The axing of the nine jobs is the equivalent of 480 hours from the fortnightly roster at the Stenner Street location.

The union says the cuts are significant and could impact on the care at the nursing home, however Blue Care says the current staffing model is well above the industry benchmark and it was necessary to adjust the roster.
