Toowoomba Regional Council has flicked on the green light for a $30million retirement village proposed for a leafy green area of Toowoomba.

Council yesterday approving the controversial development proposed for the Toowoomba Golf Club, with a unanimous vote in favour of the 78-unit complex on Rowbotham Street, Middle Ridge.

The development didn’t get the tick of approval without some angst from residents – many believe the proposed project didn’t meet all the requirements under the ‘planning scheme.’

Construction is due to start in six months.
