We could see an accommodation shortage in Toowoomba for Carnival of Flowers this year.
Concerns arose after the recent fire in Margaret Street which has left Quest Toowoomba out of action. Meanwhile Burke and Wills Hotel will be closed for renovations, the rooms accounting for 10 per cent of all hotel motel rooms in the Garden city.
74 rooms could be out of use while Quest under repair work. Quest owners FKG Group have told The Chronicle that they will be trying to have the apartments ready for the Carnival of Flowers in September.
