On average twelve people lose their loves on Toowoomba region roads every year.

It is an alarming statistic that the Council and local emergency services are looking to decrease.

They are teaming up in the lead up to Fatality Free Friday next week to spread the safety message.

Mayor Paul Antonio says a fatality causes a ripple effect through the community.

“Don’t forget the impact of fatalities on the road and the number of people who are impacted by this.  Not only is it the families of the person who loses their life but think about the work that is done by emergency services, police, the fire crews, the ambulance people and think about the broader community and what a tremendous impact it has.”
