Council Listens to Highfields Draft Master Plan Feedback

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) has considered community feedback to the Draft Highfields Cultural Precinct Master Plan at its ordinary meeting today.

Toowoomba Regional Council Mayor, Paul Antonio, who led the robust discussion, last week called for the submissions to be brought forward to the meeting, in a bid to end community uncertainty about the draft plan.

Mayor Antonio said at its heart, the draft plan was always about Council looking forward to ensure future growth of the Highfields community is sustainable and continues to offer a leading lifestyle for residents. 

“We have a responsibility to manage the development of the area and strategically drive the future growth of the Highfields region with community needs as a priority.  I must stress the proposal was always a draft for public comment,” he said.
