The Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service (DDHHS) has contributed $10,000 to the Tzu Chi Foundation to help offer free dental services to residents of Tara and surrounds over the Easter weekend.

From Good Friday, 30 March, to Easter Sunday, 1 April, volunteers from the Buddhist organisation will transform Tara’s community hall into a fully functioning dental clinic.

DDHHS Western Cluster Director of Nursing Ms Tracey Morgan said around 100 volunteer health care professionals would descend on the community.

“It is a wonderful that the DDHHS can support the work of the Tzu Chi Foundation,” Ms Morgan said.

“For the past 12 years, the foundation has visited Tara to generously provide free dental services to the community.

“I would encourage all residents to take advantage of the services that are available this Easter long weekend.”

The dental clinic will be operational from 7am to 11pm on Friday, 30 March and Saturday 31 March.

Appointments are not necessary.

The Tzu Chi Foundation is also supported by the Western Downs Regional Council.
