Police have raided at least five homes as part of the shooting of Rakayia Dawson in Rangeville in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Dawson has undergone surgery and had part of his bowel removed after allegedly being shot in the stomach and knee.

As part of the raids a number of people were taken into custody and interviewed by police.  Two of the men who were in police custody yesterday had not been charged by end of the day.

Police have however, charged 23-year-old Jackson Paul Edward McInnes with attempted murder.

McInnes appeared in a Toowoomba Court yesterday, the case was adjourned until September 14th.

The motive behind the shooting remains unknown.

While police are still searching for a second offender they are asking for anyone with information about the incident to please come forward.
