Fresh New Woolworths Opens in Toowoomba Grand Central

From today, residents in Toowoomba will be able to enjoy an exciting new shopping experience as Woolworths opens the doors to its brand new store in Grand Central.

With 124 team members, the new store has helped create 89 new jobs for the region and includes many of the great
new features Woolworths customers are starting to experience across the country as part of the nationwide store
renewal program.

Wide aisles, a full production bakery serving fresh bread daily, delicatessen, seafood counter, butcher and
a marketplace feel to the fruit and vegetable section are just some of the key features shoppers can expect at the new Woolworths.

Woolworths Toowoomba Grand Central Store Manager, Angela Biro said; “We have built the store with the local
community at its heart to ensure we are catering to our local shoppers needs.

“The new fresh marketplace feel allows us to showcase our large range of fresh and locally sourced Queensland
produce. Gibb Bros Lettuce, Pittsworth Confectionery, SunPork Fresh Foods, Gotzinger Small Goods, Wimmers Soft Drinks and of course, Bundaberg Ginger Beer, are just some of the local items that are available in-store.”

Customers will also have a choice of inspiring meal ideas, a wide range of healthy options and grocery items at great prices.

Angela Biro added; “With Easter right around the corner, we know many of our customers can’t wait to get their hands on some delicious hot cross buns! Though our traditional fruit buns always remain a crowd favourite, we always like to provide our customers with a variety of flavours and have re-introduced our popular Mocha Hot Cross Bun to the range and are confident that this will go down a treat with Toowoomba locals.

“ We're committed to doing the right thing for the environment too, so we work with local farmers to re-purpose the
surplus fresh food in our store as animal feed. “With some fantastic store opening celebrations, fresh food tasting and specials on offer, we very much look forward to welcoming our customers to the new store over the coming days.”

The Woolworths Toowoomba Grand Central store, located on the Cnr of Margaret Street & Dent Street, will be open
8.00am to 9:00pm, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, Saturday, and 9:00am to 6:00pm on Sunday.
