A number of streets in Toowoomba were hit hard with the Harristown area at South Street, Anzac Avenue, Alderley Street and Drayton Road all seeing rain gushing down the streets.

The destructive cell dumped more than 70 millimetres of rain in some parts including the Lockyer Valley with the Toowoomba Airport recording 90 millimetres.

The deluge also caused multiple road closures around Toowoomba.

Residents are reminded that while the worst appears to be over to continue to take care on the roads and stay away from flooded areas.
