Kmart Toowoomba Central is Coming to Town

Australia’s favourite retailer will officially open its doors to the Toowoomba Central community on Wednesday 29 March 2017 from 8:00am. The 5,203m2 store showcases Kmart’s new store layout that is being rolled out nationally, in a commitment to an improved shopping experience for customers, from irresistibly low priced everyday products through to brightly lit, easy to shop product worlds.

The new and elevated store layout provides locals with all of Kmart’s coloured product worlds including clothing, toys and home. Noticeable updates include central self-served check outs, wider aisles for easy wheel chair and pram access, as well as bolder graphics for navigation and a convenient shopping experience.

The latest Kmart store will be part of the Grand Central redevelopment and a wonderful addition to the vibrant retail precinct. Shaine Beveridge, Centre Manager of Grand Central said he knows that Kmart is one of the stores the community is particularly excited to see open as part of our $500 million transformation.

“We’re proud to be bringing another of the biggest names in retail to Grand Central, and providing access to so many powerhouse brands in one convenient location,” Mr Beveridge said.

Kmart Toowoomba Central store manager Josh McGee alongside his management team, has had a large task of sorting through applications, having employed just under 200 team members with many transferring from other stores.

"Training is near complete for new team members as they learn the ropes and get up to speed on the product ranges ahead of the opening. We have used the last 6 weeks to ensure the shop is filled and ready to trade whilst we went through our day to day processes and working across all areas of the store,” Josh McGee said.
