Loads of Love Appeal 2017 Has Already Collect 11 Tonne of Christmas Love

Already many families and households in need across Southern Queensland will have received support this Christmas as a result of the Loads of Love Appeal.

The METRO Care Loads of Love Appeal began collection on the 24th of November, setting out to make Christmas a little happier for households in need by providing 15,000kg of non-perishable food and personal items like canned food, pasta, cereal, meal bases and toiletries to hundreds of households across South Queensland.

Through the generosity of hundreds of people, including business, workplaces and social groups the Appeal has, so far, collected 11,000kg and a number of large cash donations that will go towards supporting families in need with food across the Christmas period.

The Loads of Love Appeal aims to make Christmas just that little bit better for families doing it tough, by asking people from the region to donate a bag filled donations of non-perishable food items and personal items like canned food, pasta, cereal, meal bases and toiletries.

With another 4 days of collection remaining, the Appeal is expecting see more donations, which means that even more families will receive a little bit of hope and the support they so desperately require.

Collected items are being lovingly packed ready for distribution by the dedicated volunteers of trusted local charity, Lifeline Darling Downs & South West Queensland who have reported a record demand for support this year.

Many Queenslanders are feeling the pinch this year and it is programs such as this that make all the difference to families who otherwise would be struggling without hope.

Collections close on 22nd of December and people can still get involved by donating to their closest Heritage Bank Branch or by finding their closest donation point on the http://www.loadsoflove.org.au website.
