Families in need across the Darling Downs and southern Queensland will have 15,000 extra reasons to smile this Christmas, with thanks to the 2017 METRO Care Loads of Love Appeal.

The Loads of Love Appeal aims to make Christmas just that little bit better for families doing it tough, by asking people from the region to donate a bag filled donations of non-perishable food items and personal items like canned food, pasta, cereal, meal bases and toiletries.

Now in its eighth year, the “Loads of Love Appeal” has set the ambitious target of gathering 15,000 kilograms of non-perishable food this Christmas for distribution to households across Southern Queensland.

Once again, the Loads of Love Appeal is partnering with Heritage Bank to widen its collection capabilities.

All 60 Heritage Bank branches will be collection points for the Loads of Love Appeal.

People wishing to help the Appeal can simply pick up a bag at any Heritage branch across southern Queensland, and fill it with food items. They can then return the bag to their closest Heritage Bank branch or to participating Harvey Norman stores in Toowoomba, Kingaroy, Warwick and Dalby.

Appeal organiser, Matt Gregg, said, “Loads of Love is simple, easy and accessible to everyone.

“We can all make a difference and be a part of spreading some Christmas cheer in our local communities.

“All donations of non-perishable food will be distributed in partnership with trusted local community organisations in key areas of need across Southern Queensland. Every single item will go to where it is needed the most.”
