A man accused of firing a crossbow arrow at another man during an argument has been granted bail.

Toowoomba snake catcher, David Gregory Wiedman appeared before a Toowoomba Court yesterday.

It is alleged the 36-year-old man fired the arrow at a 30-year-old male after an argument took place his Darling Heights home.

Defence argued that Wiedman had aimed the arrow at a nearby pole which deflected hitting the man in the neck.

The man underwent surgery for his injuries.

The case has been adjourned for committal mention in November.
