With the weather warming up it's inevitable that the little ones are going to be attracted to water therefore it is imperative that they are taught how to swim and taught safe water habits.
Enter Toowoomba Regional Council.
TRC are offering children under the age of 5 the opportunity to participate in four, free swimming lessons at Milne Bay Aquatic Centre during Learn2Swim week October 2-9. Council are offering these free swimming lessons and teaching them safe water habits in the hope of preventing another drowning occurrence.
Learn2Swim Week is an inaugural swim awareness week aimed at educating parents on the importance of teaching kids under five to swim and water safety.
According to Laurie Lawrence teaching kids to swim is the best prevention against drowning, which is the number one cause of accidental death in children under five.
