The Queensland Government is promising more beds Toowoomba Hospital thanks to a record investment in health care.

Health Minister Steven Miles says today’s State Budget will see an increase to the operating budget locally.

"No matter where you live in the Darling Downs region, you will have access to high-quality health care," Mr Miles said.

The increase going up by $40 million to just over $800 million, with the spend including 31 more beds at the Toowoomba Hospital.

Priorities for the region will include:

$1.5 million for gastrointestinal endoscopy services

$400,000 for in-community mental health treatment services

$250,000 to coordinate and deliver health services to refugees

$20 million toward the $62 million Kingaroy Hospital redevelopment

$3 million to start the detailed business case for the Toowoomba Hospital redevelopment.
