Construction on the Mort Street Upgrade Project to connect to the new Toowoomba Second Range Crossing will begin in June 2017.

Toowoomba Regional Council Deputy Mayor and Chair of the Infrastructure Committee Cr Carol Taylor said the upgrade will help improve traffic flow to and from the new range crossing, provide a connector to Brisbane and the west, and cater for growth in Toowoomba’s transport network.

“Council is funding this important upgrade because it will provide lasting economic and social benefits for the Toowoomba community and help meet the future needs of the city,” Cr Taylor said.

“The Mort Street upgrade will provide a new northern entrance into the city, with extensive landscaping improving the amenity of the road corridor.”
