There will be no new investigation into the death of a Toowoomba mother and son in the 2011 floods that roared through the region.

Jordan's father John Tyson has requesting an inquest after footage showing police interviewing Jordan's brother Blake days after without a child worker present.

A coroner has rejected a request to look into the death of 43-year-old Donna Rice and her son Jordan.

The pair drowned when their car was submerged in the historic flood waters.

There has been some criticism over the handling of the call made to the emergency call centre with their belief that the Rice family had deliberately driven into the flood waters, therefore listing the emergency call as low priority.
