Police Investigate Fatal Accident at Meringandan

Police are investigating a fatal, single vehicle traffic accident that happened in Meringandan yesterday afternoon.

Around 3.30pm, emergency services were called to Yalangur Lilyvale Road following reports a motorcycle had crashed.

Preliminary information suggests the motorcycle was travelling west on the road when it failed to navigate a bend and then left the roadway.

The 64-year-old male rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.

Police are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the accident to please contact them.
