Police have charged a 52-year-old Flinton man after they located four unregistered firearms, ammunition and 32 cannabis plants while exercising a warrant on a property in the rural town.

Detectives from the Toowoomba Major and Organised Crime Squad (Rural) searched the property on October 27.

The man was charged with four counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of explosives without authority, producing dangerous drugs, and possession of a drug utensil.

He will appear in the Dalby Magistrates Court on November 20.

Detective Senior Sergeant Trevor Stephens said these efforts clearly demonstrated the “anytime, anywhere” mantra police have towards tackling illicit drugs and weapon-related offences.

“Every unlicensed weapon we take off the street makes the community safer,” he said.

“Consequently, we will be unrelenting in our efforts. We continue to seek community information to assist in targeting these offenders.”
