A Toowoomba father has been given probabtion after shaking his two month old daughter – in a fit of frustration.

The man was woken at 2AM with the little girl crying – after refusing her pacifier, he shook the girl, which resulted in her injuries.

He had immediately called triple zero, the baby was taken to hospital with scans revealing a brain bleed and burst eye capillary. 

Magistrate Kay Ryan took into account the man’s remorse when handing down her decision.  He was sentenced to three years probation, no conviction was recorded.
