Rate Rises Likely for Toowoomba Residents

Toowoomba Regional Council will hand down its budget this afternoon, and the residents of Toowoomba can expect a rate rise although nothing has been confirmed.

Council have called a ‘special meeting’ to be held at 1:00PM today City Hall to present the Toowoomba 2017-18 budget.

Mayor Paul Antonio says there will not be any shocks to come from today’s document but in relation to a rate rise he says that if we look at the long term plan that the council has laid out then there will be a rate rise every year.
