A Toowoomba nursing home has been told to change its reporting protocols following the death of a resident in 2013.

A Queensland coroner has slammed Blue Care at Jacaranda Place and made the recommendations after the death of 86-year-old Albert Eric Biffin who died from cardiac arrest.

The coroner finding inadequate progress notes were taken on the patient’s condition and recommended that the nursing home improve its reporting protocol, suggesting records be made to inform nursing staff from one shift to the next about what action doctors require.
