Toowoomba Regional Council Strategic Planning and Economic Development portfolio leader Cr Anne Glasheen said the draft structure plan options propose protecting and enhancing the area’s heritage and introducing a mix of housing options to support new communities.

“The draft structure plan options propose opportunities for land use, open space, roads and new centres in Drayton,” Cr Glasheen said.

“Drayton is an iconic Toowoomba location and the draft structure plan options are based on maintaining and enhancing the area’s unique identity and character as one of Toowoomba’s first settlements,” she said.

“We want Drayton to be a place where the community and visitors come to appreciate the area’s rich heritage and bushland and creek environments.

“The draft structure plan options have been developed using feedback from an initial round of community consultation completed in May and June this year.

The draft structure plan options are available on Council’s website https://yoursay.tr.qld.gov.au/dlui and in hard copy at Council’s Customer Service Centres.

The community can comment on the draft structure plan options by completing a survey online or in hard copy until Monday 1 October 2018. Hard-copy surveys are available from Customer Service Centres.
