Security Vigilance is Requested for Crows Nest

Motor Vehicle Theft on the Rise

Article heading image for Security Vigilance is Requested for Crows Nest

Police report that between October 22 and 23, Crows Nest was subject to four motor vehicle thefts and two unlawful use of motor vehicle offences.

One of the stolen vehicles was located a short distance away from the offence location, however another vehicle was located in Sebastapool Road completely destroyed by fire.

Each stolen vehicle was unfortunately left unlocked, which has provided the opportunity for the offenders to steal, due to their lack of security.

Being vigilant when it comes to property security, and making sure that vehicles and houses are always locked, is the best crime preventative.

It is important that the message ‘lock it or lose‘ is in all our minds, and ensure we are making it  impossible for opportunistic offenders to steal our property by increasing security measures.
