The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 5:05 pm, very dangerous thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near the area north of Warwick. These thunderstorms are moving towards the north to northeast and may affect the Allora area within the next hour..

Other severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near the area south of Kingaroy, the area east of Gympie, Kin Kin, Lake Cooloola and the area east of Dalby. They are forecast to affect the area west of Kingaroy, Goomboorian, Toolara Forest, Tin Can Bay, Rainbow Beach and Mount Kanighan by 5:35 pm and Kingaroy, Double Is Point, Wide Bay, Inskip, Inskip Point and the area northwest of Jimna by 6:05 pm.

Destructive winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones are likely.

Wind damage was reported southwest of Warwick just prior to 5pm.

4cm hail has been reported near Grantham.

3cm hail has been reported near Allora.

71mm of rainfall has been recorded in the 60 minutes to 2.10 at Camp Hill Rd (50km southwest of Laidley)

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should: 
* Move your car under cover or away from trees. 
* Secure loose outdoor items. 
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it. 
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees. 
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm. 
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines. 
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500. 

The next warning is due to be issued by 6:05 pm.

A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Wide Bay and Burnett and parts of the Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast districts.
