A light-hearted pro-am will kick off the weekend Friday evening with teams from local corporates and media organisations vying to win the inaugural Terrific Toowoomba Tenpin Tournament.

Each team will include a Championship participant who’ll share some tips on the skills needed to take out the TTT trophy.

Championship organiser, Morty Douglass, is delighted with the response to this annual tournament that began with preliminary squads last weekend and will continue throughout the weekend, culminating with Masters Finals in all four divisions – Youth, Restricted, Seniors and Open.   “It’s the biggest-ever State Championships we’ve held, with almost 200 players and supporters descending on Toowoomba to take part,” Douglass said.

Amongst the ‘pro’ recruits will be local teenagers Nicole Caldwell and Cameron Stein, who recently returned from stellar performances representing South Queensland at the TBA National Championships in Melbourne.  17 year-old Nicole Caldwell won Silver in the Australian Classic Cup at the Nationals and captained the South Queensland President’s Shield team, posting a tournament high score and personal best of 277 during the event.

The TTT Tournament will get underway at 7pm on Friday night, and spectators are welcome to cheer on their favourite team.   Spectators are also invited to Sunset Superbowl right across the weekend to witness some of the country’s best bowling talent on the lanes.
