Sunday public transport services will be available to Toowoomba locals come June 19th.

Translink will be offering Sunday services to the region and 1150 bus services per week all part of a big make-over to the public transport system.

Assistant Manager for Transport Glenn Butcher says he know firsthand how much the community is growing:

“There will be a whole raft of new services coming on board in Toowoomba.  We know that the community has been immensely and basically what we will see in the new Network will be eight improved routes in the city.

The project has been an ongoing process for the last twelve months, public engagement has been ongoing.

Key features of your new bus network:

  • eight routes with more than 1150 services per week
  • two routes running at 30 minute frequencies during peak periods
  • six routes operating at hourly frequencies
  • introduction of Sunday services on popular routes
  • longer operating hours to provide more travel options to and from the CBD
  • expanded coverage to service new and growing residential areas
  • more frequent trips to key destinations including Toowoomba Bus Station, Toowoomba Hospital, University of Southern Queensland, Grand Central Shopping Centre and Clifford Gardens Shopping Centre.
