A Garden City charity will re-open their doors today after thieves broke into Loaves and Fishes Street Meet premises and stole a significant amount of cash on the weekend.
The charity was the victim of a burglary with thieves taking money that would have been used to help the needy.
Instead of supplying hampers for people the charity had to turn away 20 locals denying them of food they desperately needed. The money stolen was enough to feed more than 100 people.
Manager Kylie Jennings of Loaves and Fishes Street Meet says she can’t believe someone would steal from charity.
Toowoomba police are continuing their investigations and anyone with any information is being asked to get in contact with police.
