Three Injured, One Critical, after Serious Car Accident

A tow truck and a sedan travelling in opposite directions near Charles Chauvel Drive at Warrill View on the Southern Downs collided around 1:10am yesterday morning leaving three people injured, a man in his 70’s sustained life-threatening injuries.

The elderly man was airlifted to the Princess Alexander Hospital in a serious but stable condition where he remains in intensive care.

A man in his 50’s was also taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital suffering head and ankle injuries while a man in his 20’s was taken to Ipswich Hospital – both men were in a stable condition when transported to hospital.

The highway was closed in both directions for several hours before re-opening around midday.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
