The Toowoomba Blood Donor Centre did well during the typically challenging Easter period, attracting enough blood donors to ensure they had plenty of stock in supply for patients in need.
However, there is never enough and this week the Toowoomba Blood Donor Centre is again asking for your help.
This week at TOOWOOMBA Blood Donor Centre they need…
- 30 x Whole blood donors – Thursday, Friday, Saturday
- 70 x Plasma donors – Tuesday to Friday
1 in 3 of us will need blood or blood products at some point in our lives, however only 1 in 30 donates.
Over 22,000 new donors will be needed in Queensland this year to ensure the Blood Service meets patient demand for blood products.
This continues to be important with autumn almost here, and with the Blood Service seeing donors unable to attend due to illness such as cold and flu.
New donors, or those who have not donated for some time, are therefore incredibly important both now and for the future of Australia’s blood supply for patients in need.
