The Highfields Gardens Childcare Centre has been sold for a whopping $6.1 million.

The sale marks the highest price ever paid for a childcare facility in Queensland.

The price is more than five times what the centre was previously sold for in 2014, when it was bought by Whiz Kids Highfields for $1.15 million.

The Chronicle reported that the facility was snapped up by a farmer from New South Wales after outbidding more than 30 potential buyers – with people still making calls of interest.

The centre is a large one with that factoring into the high rental which help with the selling price of $6.1 million.
