Toowoomba firm Robertson Scannell will be hosting their first corporate race day this Saturday to raise funds for vital community organisation LifeFlight.

The day is not only a way for the Toowoomba-based company to give back to a local charity, but it's also a way to say thank you to their valued clients.

Due to popular vote among staff, this years' funds will go to the LifeFlight Foundation to support the work of the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter service.

This Saturday's event will be a race day at Clifford Park Racecourse where clients will be invited to enjoy the Derby Day racing atmosphere, and dig deep for LifeFlight.

The event gives race-goers the opportunity to buy and bet 'funny money' throughout the day with the winning proceeds used at an auction at the end of the day.

All the festivities' proceeds will go to support RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopters whose aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performed a record 5,342 missions throughout Queensland and around the world last year.

Robertson Scannell have a strong affiliation with the Count Charitable Foundation who, upon hearing about the fundraising event, have generously donated $10,000 to LifeFlight to kick start the day's donations.

Marketing Manager of the accounting and financial planning firm Melissa Dickfos said she's excited for this year's charity event because LifeFlight is such an important charity for the region.

"We do our best to raise as much as possible every year and we have some great clients who are very generous, which makes a huge difference for our recipients," she said.

"LifeFlight is such a vital service in Toowoomba so it's wonderful that the community can come together to raise funds for something that we may all need at some point."

"We are a charitable city and I am excited to see our clients enjoy the festivities and experience a great afternoon at the races," Melissa said.
