Toowoomba drivers need to take note:  the region has been ranked the second worst in the state for the high-range drink driving.

The worst area was Cairns where121 people blew at least .15, three times over the legal limit.

Sadly, Toowoomba came in a close second with 101 people followed by Broadbeach at 81, Mount Isa 77, Coomera 77, Townsville 76, Maroochydore 74, Southport 72, Hendra 58 and Bundaberg 57, according to recent police statistics.

Among the highest readings in Queensland last year were a Maudsland woman, 48, driving erratically with a reading of .318; a Caboolture woman, 40, who blew .297 after swerving across lanes on the Gateway Motorway at Nudgee and hitting roadwork barriers; and a Hervey Bay man, 63, who blew .222 at 8.10am after falling from his scooter.

It’s simple – don’t drink and drive.  Every time you do you are not only endangering your life but also the lives of innocent people on the road at the same time.
